Only 4 colors?? The portrait using the Zorn palette
Session description
This workshop covers all phases of oil portrait painting, from drawing to the monochrome layer to the application of color…
Based on an image.
We’ll begin by exploring the principles of drawing, focusing on the observation of values, color mixing, brush techniques, and their applications.
Using the color wheel as a guide, we’ll apply the method of Zorn (a 19th-century Swedish painter), which uses titanium white, yellow ochre, light cadmium red, and ivory black to create any portrait.
In just a few days, Judith will help you gain the confidence to create your first portraits or improve your technique!
